چکیده

In this work, a framework to boost the efficiency of Bayesian inference in probabilistic models is introduced by embedding Markov chain sampler within variational posterior approximation. We call “refined approximation”. Its strengths are its ease implementation and automatic tuning parameters, leading faster mixing time through differentiation. Several strategies approximate evidence lower bound (ELBO) computation also introduced. efficient performance showcased experimentally using state-space for time-series data, encoder density estimation conditional autoencoder as deep Bayes classifier.

A Refined MCMC Sampling from RKHS for PAC-Bayes Bound Calculation

PAC-Bayes risk bound integrating theories of Bayesian paradigm and structure risk minimization for stochastic classifiers has been considered as a framework for deriving some of the tightest generalization bounds. A major issue in practical use of this bound is estimations of unknown prior and posterior distributions of the concept space. In this paper, by formulating the concept space as Repro...

Declarative Gesture Spotting using Inferred and Refined Control Points

We propose a novel gesture spotting approach that offers a comprehensible representation of automatically inferred spatiotemporal constraints. These constraints can be defined between a number of characteristic control points which are automatically inferred from a single gesture sample. In contrast to existing solutions which are limited in time, our gesture spotting approach offers automated ...

A Refined Experience Sampling Method to Capture Mobile User Experience

Introduction Research on mobile technology has evolved rapidly during the last years stimulated by the market growth in this sector. However, research in this field has not grown harmonically, and the methodologies used were often not designed for the challenges posed by mobility. In most of the cases, researchers conducting experiments with mobile devices adapted methods, which were not mobile...

A sampling lower bound for permutations

A map f : [n]` → [n]n has locality d if each output symbol in [n] = {1, 2, . . . , n} depends only on d of the ` input symbols in [n]. We show that the output distribution of a d-local map has statistical distance at least 1−2 · exp(−n/ logcd n) from a uniform permutation of [n]. This seems to be the first lower bound for the well-studied problem of generating permutations. Because poly(n)-size...

Variationally universal hashing

The strongest well-known measure for the quality of a universal hash-function family H is its being ε-strongly universal, which measures, for randomly chosen h ∈ H, one’s inability to guess h(m′) even if h(m) is known for some m 6= m′. We give example applications in which this measure is too weak, and we introduce a stronger measure for the quality of a hash-function family, ε-variationally un...
